Adam Meredith - Young Preservationist of the Year Award, 2007

This 2007 Young Preservationist of the Year Award recognises that, at a time when computer graphics and design are commonly used for most types of signwriting, Adam Meredith has successfully embarked on a career in the traditional methods of painting and lining of both full size and model vehicles.

He also undertakes fairground artwork and the reproduction of makers’ transfers.

Though Adam explains with typical modesty that his skill comes from constant practice, there is no doubt that he has considerable innate ability as his work clearly shows.

It is vitally important that the traditional skills of signwriting be continued, and it is encouraging that someone of Adam’s age is prepared to preserve our craftsmanship heritage in this way.
