Members of the Transport Trust have been invited to visit the Beeches Light Railway in Steeple Ashton in Oxfordshire on 2 September 2017. The Beeches Light Railway is a private narrow gauge railway in the garden of Adrian Shooter, the former director of Chiltern Railways.
There is approximately 1 mile of track, and visitors on the open day of 2 September are free to wander around the track and engine sheds at will, with many photo opportunities of the 2’ gauge engine which will be operational all afternoon. Unlimited free travel and a BBQ lunch is included in the £30 ticket price. The day starts at 12.30, with lunch being served from 1.00.
Final numbers and payment needs to be advised to the Beeches Light Railway by the end of July, so it is necessary for attendees to book and pay for places before this date. Only those who have paid by end July will obtain tickets. As this is a great opportunity, which some members have visited before, please send your application and a cheque, for £30 per person, made out to The Transport Trust to Mike Trapp, 1 Pershore Fields, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 2AB. You can post date the cheque for 30 July 2017 if you wish. The full address of the railway will be notified to those attending.
