About Hopetown Carriage Works

Home to the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group and A1 Locomotive Trust the former 1853-built Stockton & Darlington Railway Carraige Works is where No.60163 Tornado steam locomotive was built and where the new Gresley P2 steam locomotive is under construction.

Follow signs to North Road museum, (Head of Steam) which is still a functioning station, good parking and short walk/drive to Hopetown works visible across small field.
