 Those of you have visited the private collection of marine craft and ephemera at Shiplake near Henley-on-Thames will know what a magnificent display Bill and Penny Rose have assembled.

Sadly, this is the final year that they we be opening to the public and they have kindly offered members of the Transport Trust one last opportunity to view their collection, Accordingly, a visit has been arranged on Thursday 26th September from 10.30am to 1pm. As it is likely to be very popular, please let Alan Wallwork our Southern Area Visits Co-ordinator know as soon as possible if you wish to attend.

Alan can be contacted via e-mail on  and as the numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Don’t miss this opportunity for one last visit and for those of you who wish to travel by public transport, Shiplake Station is very close to Magnolia Wharfe where the collection is housed.

For those travelling by car, the Wharfe is located on Basmore Lane, Lower Shiplake and the postcode is RG9 3NU. Please note that parking is restricted and there is no on-street parking nearby, so please car-share where possible.  There is parking at the nearby station car park

There is no charge for the visit, although Bill will be selling copies of his book about the Collection,
